Kids and Dirt: Finding Quartz in Arkansas

Details for planning a trip to Wegner Quartz Mine in Mount Ida, Arkansas - what to expect, what to pack, and other mom tips.

Who Am I and Why Blog?

I’m Bobbie, a homeschooling mom with a major wanderlust problem, a husband who encourages it, and four little travel monsters with long lists of places to go.

When I search for family travel inspiration, their lives just aren’t realistic for most people. Most of us can’t travel full time, it isn’t an exotic life, and our family life isn’t a picture perfect experience. I want to help these seem do-able for everyone. Travel isn’t scary when you have some guidance. Homeschooling isn’t scary when you can see a real-life example. And, let’s face it, the kids and their mom aren’t perfect. Let’s focus on what’s really important and seize the day.

Welcome to our journey!

Rosa Parks? Check. But Elizabeth Jennings? Never heard of her. Until this book.
Fire plus crayons equals a great project! I saw this last night as a good way to use up crayons and thought it was genius.
Just leaving this here ;) Poor puppy...
Book lover quote anyone? I admit I did smell a book this morning during morning time and was taken back to my grandmother’s house and the smell of old ;)
May I never take the trees for granted... Beautiful Georgia day for dirt bike ramps and hours practicing a scooter skills.
Want independent kids? You have to allow them to learn to be independent. Practice!

Thanks for visiting!

Seeing our world through the curious minds of kids changes all of us. My goal is to encourage other families to see the world as full of opportunities for learning and exploring. All of these moments are pockets for amazing potential.  It all counts!
